Love, Loss and Magic in the Welsh Landscape
A new version of a classic tale.
“A woman emerges from a lake and stands on the shore, dripping.
The wind scuds across the water as she scans the shore.
She gleams in the moonlight and her reflection shimmers.
Tomorrow he will come.”
Y Llyn is a 60 minute storytelling, dance and music performance inspired by the
legend of Llyn y Fan Fach, told in both Welsh AND English at the same time.
The story of the Lady of the Lake from Llyn y Fan Fach is one of the best known
Welsh folktales, performed by BANDO! in a totally new way.
BANDO is a brand new company, steered by storyteller Michael Harvey and brings
together artists from across other genres to create a brand new storytelling experience.
Performed with music, movement and both Welsh and English, so that both Welsh
speakers, non-Welsh speakers and learners are able to follow and immerse themselves in
the performance without translation.
